Shanta Kumar's Trust signs MOU with JSS and HP

Shimla, Nov 5 (UNI) Former Union Minister Shanta Kumar's, Vivekanad Medical Research Trust (VMRT) signed a Memorandom of Understanding (MoU) with Jai Parkesh Sewa Sansthanm (JSS), New Delhi and Himachal Pradesh Government here today.

The MOU has signed by Deepak Sanan, Principal Secretary (Health) on behalf of the HP government while Mr Shant Kumar, Chairman of VMRT penned the MoU on behalf of the Trust. Mr Manoj Gaur, Managing Trustee of JSS signed for the Sansthanm.

Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal was present on the occasion.

With this the number of trustees of the Trust rose to 15 from the existing five members. The Trust runs the Vivekanand Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Kangra district.

Mr Shanta Kumar who is also the BJP national Vice President said that the MOU would help to develop the institute as a super speciality centre for health and medical care besides the move would also benefit the Medical and Nursing College affiliated with the Institute.

He said that VMRT has spent about Rs 10 crore to develop the Vivekanand Institute of Medical Sciences and Research. He said that VMRT has acquired about 40 acre land for further expansion.

He said that he himself would continue as Chairman of the Trust and would work along with JSS and the state Government to increases the facilities at the Institute.

He said that JSS would be the Mangaing Trustee and the Government of Himachal Pradesh which has provided the land for expansion would have one trustee while the Chief Minister would be the chief patron of the Trust.
