President invites Obama to visit India
New Delhi, Nov 5 (UNI) President Pratibha Devisingh Patil today extended an invitation to US President-elect Barack Obama to visit India as soon as possible.
While congratulating Mr Obama on his election as the 44th President of the United States, President Patil said the people of India who had closely followed the US election process with ''unprecedented interest'', saw his election as a ''historic mandate'' of the people of the United States.
''I wish you every success as you assume your responsibilities at the helm of your nation and invite you to vist India as soon as possible,'' Ms Patil said in her message.
