PDP self rule only viable solution to vexed Kashmir issue

Srinagar, Nov 5 (UNI) Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that self rule is the only viable solution to the vexed Kashmir issue as the other roadmaps including National Confere's Autonomy Proposal have nothing new to offer to Kashmiris.

Addressing a workers convention in south Kashmir today senior PDP leader and former minister Abdul Aziz Zargar said his party's roadmap talks of a new concept of shared sovereignty besides other constitutional guarantees.

He said Kashmiris will never forget the NC leadership who worked on the ''same wages'' despite the fact that their Autonomy proposal was thrown to dust-bin by the NDA government.

Mr Zargar claimed that it was PDP which made a hostile atmosphere between the India and Pakistan into a conducive one to discuss peace and reconciliation.

The PDP, besides fulfilling its promises, made headway in motivating the two countries for extending major confidence building measures including opening of routes across the border and restoration of trade between the two divided parts of Kashmir,'' Zargar observed.
