Over 122 lakh tonnes of paddy procured in Punjab

Chandigarh, Nov 5 (UNI) The six government agencies and millers have procured 122,71,399 tonnes of paddy in Punjab, official figures released here today stated.

Pungrain had procured 33,80,459 tonnes of paddy, Markfed procured 26,12,780 tonnes of paddy, Punsup 25,51,212 tonnes, Punjab State Warehousing Corporation procured 14,15,967 tonnes of paddy and Punjab Agro had procured 11,88,002 tonnes of paddy till yesterday evening.

The Central Government Agency FCI had so far procured only 1,95,409 tonnes of paddy while the millers had procured 9,27,570 tonnes of paddy.

Ferozepur district was leading in procurement figures with 11,63,545 tonnes of paddy having been purchased. Patiala district was at second position with 10,04,697 tonnes of paddy.
