Lok Ayukta unearth amassed wealth from DDPI
Bangalore, Nov 5 (UNI) Karnataka Lok Ayukta raided a house of a senior official in state Education department and unearthed amassed wealth of Rs 55 lakhs, which is disproportionate to his known sources, here today.
In a release, Lok Ayukta said that during the raid on the house of L Rangappa, Deputy Director of Public Instructions (DDPI) Chitadurga district, the officials seized cash, jewels, vehicles, insurance policies and records for owning buildings and lands from the arrested, a Lok Ayukta release said.
The total assets of the accused was estimated at Rs 91.35 lakhs, while the approximate income of the accused was calculated at Rs 3.5 lakh per annum.
The accused joined service as a primary school teacher in 1976.
