Goa police asked to file affidavit on German minor rape case
Panaji, Nov 5 (UNI) The Panaji Bench of the Bombay High Court today asked the Goa police to file an affidavit by November 20 on the progress in investigation in the case of alleged rape of a German minor girl by the son and relative of state cabinet ministers.
The Bench comprising Justice N A Britto has fixed the next hearing on November 21.
The police had submitted all the statements and related records of their investigation before the Panaji Bench yesterday, as per the the High court directives to Advocate General Subodh Kantak and the hearing was fixed for today.
It may be recalled that the Chief Justice of the Bombay High court, Swatanter Kumar and Justice S A Bobde had on October 24, while taking suo motto cognizance, issued a show cause notice to the Goa police on the issue, asking them as to why the investigation of the case should not be handed over to a specialised agency in accordance with the law.
