Girl commits suicide in Jammu

Jammu, Nov 5: A 20-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at her residence in the Nagrota area here, police today said.

The girl, identified as Ruby, daughter of Dhani Ram resident of village Utterbeni, Nagrota, was shifted to the Government Medical College, Jammu, in semiconscious state for treatment yesterday where she died later, police said.

Reasons, forcing the girl to take the extreme step, were yet to be known.

Police have started inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC.

The Body of the deceased was handed over to her family after autopsy.
