Congress asks govt to strictly enforce transport norms
Shimla, Nov 5 (UNI) Expressing concern over the bus accident in Kufri in which 45 people were killed, Himahcal Pradesh Congress Committee demanded implementation of Kaul and Goswami Committee reports to avoid the motor accidents in the state.
Stressing that the government should enforce the transport norms strictly, HPCC Spokesman Kuldeep Rathore while addressing mediapersons here today said that the bus accident at Kufri indicated that road norms were being violated in the state.
"Use of sound system and mobile phones by the drivers are very much prevalent in the state. Thorough checking should be conducted by the government to avoid accidents and the private bus driver should be properly trained before issuing them licence to drive heavy vehicles on the road," he said.
Mr Rathore threaten to file PIL in Himachal Pradesh High Court if the state government would not strictly enforce road and transport rules.
