Pondy: Protests affect Spinning mill work

Puducherry, Nov 4: Working of the Puducherry Co-operative Spinning mill was affected as the workers struck work to press their demands at Thirubhuavanai, on Tuesday, Nov 4. They were demanding the immediate implementation of the sixth pay commission recommendations and sanctioning of Rs 600 as interim relief, announced by the previous Rangasamy government.

Over 300 workers held a dharna in front of the mill main gate.

Meanwhile, Federation of the Government Teachers Association wore black badges and observed a sit-in strike, demanding the immediate implementation of the sixth pay commission recommendations.

The unemployed nurses association members would also organise an agitation tomorrow, seeking government jobs.
