Seven arrested for Salboni incident remanded to police custody
Midnapur, Nov 04 (UNI) The Chief Judicial Magistrate of Midnapur sessions court today remanded to ten-day police custody all the seven arrested in connection with Sunday's landmine blast at Salboni.
The arrested would again be produced before CJM Narendranath Dasgupta's court on November 13.
Eleven more people were detained today from Lalgarh and Salboni areas for interrogation, but they were released later, police said.
Meanwhile, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrived here from Chennai to make an on the spot study of the whole incident.
The five-man team, led by Rama Rao, inspected the area near the blast site at Kutunia village and the place of inauguration of Jindal Steel Works plant at Salboni.
It was reliably learnt that the team had been sent following request from Minister for Steel, Chemicals and Fertiliser Ram Vilas Paswan, whose convoy was intercepted on Sunday while returning from the ground-breaking celebration of the JSW plant.
