School students rally condemns killings of Tamils in Lanka

Puducherry, Nov 4 (UNI) Students of different schools in Puducherry today abstained from classes and took out a procession to condemn the killings of innocent Tamils in Sri Lanka.

Later, they submitted a memorandum to Puducherry Lt Governor Govind Singh Gurjar here seeking the intervention of the Centre to ensure a ceasefire in the island nation and find a political solution to the ethnic problem there.

They also demanded the Centre stop providing military aid to Sri Lanka and intervene to protect Tamil Nadu fishermen from attacks by the Sri Lankan Navy.
