Rajiv Sawhney, new CEO of Essar Group's telecom business

New Delhi, Nov 4 (UNI) Essar Group today said it has appointed Rajiv Sawhney as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for its telecom business group.

He, an alumnus of Indian Institute of Management (Bangalore), will oversee the entire management for the Telecom Business Group which operates in a wide range of business segments such as telecom, telecom retail and telecom infrastructure, a statement said.

Mr Rajiv has worked Hutchison Telecommunications for over a decade in multiple roles and various locations across India and globally, the last of which was as the Chief Executive Officer, PT Hutchison CP Telecom in Indonesia.

In India, he has earlier worked with Hutchison Essar Telecom. He has also worked with Jenson&Nicholson and Blow Plast India.

Essar has 33 per cent stake in the Vodafone-Essar telecom JV. It also owns telecom retail chain ''The MobileStore.'' UNI SBA MP HS1827
