Anil Ambani says 'No' to UP ticket

Lucknow, Nov 4: Anil Dhirubhai Ambani reliance group has ruled out any possibility of Anil Ambani contesting the Rajya Sabha elections from Uttar Pradesh.

In a statement here today, the company sources said that the media reports on Mr Ambani contesting the RS polls slated on November 21 were 'incorrect and baseless'. A section of a press had said that Anil Ambani might contest the RS elections from UP after a nomination paper was taken on the name of the industrial group. The statement said anyone who claimed to have secured nomination forms on behalf or behest of Mr Ambani had nothing to do with him.'' Mr Ambani was not interested in contesting the elections at all'', it further said.

Earlier in June 2004, Anil Ambani was elected as Samajwadi Party supported independent member Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh but on March 25,2006 he resigned voluntarily.
