Whole economy affected by recession: Ramadorai

Mumbai, Nov 03 (UNI) The global recession will not only affect the IT industry but the whole economy, Tata Consultancy (TCS) chief executive officer and managing director S Ramadorai predicted today.

Speaking to mediapersons on the sidelines of ''Forum for Women in Leadership'' here, Mr Ramadorai said it was time to protect one's turf and try and get the best out of the situation.

Entry level for the industry would remain the same, but one would need to look at demand for experienced professionals, he said.

Echoing Mr Ramadorai's sentiments, Infosys member of board Mohandas Pai said that though the economy had faced a slowdown two-three years ago and had recovered after a few quarters, right now the biggest recession in the last 100 years is being witnessed, with USD three-four trillion being pumped in to rejuvenate the economy.
