TN Governor donates one month salary to Tamils Relief Fund

Chennai, Nov 3 (UNI) Tamil Nadu governor S S Barnala contributed one month salary to the Sri Lankan Tamils Relief Fund, which touched Rs 4.89 crore today.

In a letter to Chief Miniter M Karunanidhi, who had launched the scheme with his personal contribution of Rs 10 lakhs, the Governor said he was proposing to contribute his one month salary to the Relief Fund as his contribution.

The Tamil Film Producers' Federation, led by Rama Narayanan (Rs 11 lakh), Mr G Veeramani of Gem Granites (Rs Five lakh), Former Minister K Pichandi (Rs Three lakh), Film Producer A V M Saravanan (Rs 2.5 lakh) and commedian Vadivelu (Rs Two lakh), were among others, who contributed for the fund today, an official release here said.
