Highway robbers loot Gold, cash and mobile in Kapurthala

Kapurthala, Nov 3 (UNI) Three motorcycle-borne armed highway robbers looted gold ornaments, cash and a mobile from a villager on Kapurthala-Bhandal Bet road near here this afternoon.

According to police, Kuldip Singh and his mother Surinder Kaur after buying gold weighing half a kg from Kapurthala town for a marriage, were returning to village Bhandal Bet in their car when the highway robbers waylaid them.

They first snatched a gold chain from Kuldip Singh and beat him.

When Surinder Kaur intervened to save her son, they snatched her purse containing the gold ornaments and cash and fled.

Police have registered a case and began investigation.
