CBI moves appeal seeking 'proclamation' to book three accused

Kolkata, Nov 3 (UNI) Central investigating agency CBI today moved an appeal before a city court seeking issue of 'procalamation' to book the three accused in Rizwanur Rehman death case, who disappeared after the Court asked them to surrender.

CBI counsel Partha Tapaswi said the petition would be heard on November 10.

Mr Tapaswi told UNI that Ashok Todi, father of Priyanka who married Rizwanur Rehman, went underground with his brother Pradip Todi and Anil Sarogi.

The Special Court hearing the Rizwanur Rehman death case asked all seven accused in the case to appear before the bench on October 27. All but the three accused failed to appear before the bench and prayed a stay on their personal appearance.

The court rejected their appeal and issued arrest warrant asking them to surrender before the bench within November three.

The CBI prayed before the court to publish photographs of Mr Todi and two others so that they could be traced down and brought before the court for justice.

Meanwhile, city civil and sessions court rejected a prayer of the three accused seeking stay on the arrest warrant issued by the special court.

The court, however, fixed the hearing of the appeal on November 13.
