Kerala: 526 companies registered b/w July and Sep

Kochi, Nov 3: As many as 526 companies, including 46 big-size companies, were registered in Kerala during the period between July and Sep 2008. Out of the total, 11 were public companies with a total authorised capital Rs 750 lakhs and 515 private companies with a total authorised capital Rs 7267.7 lakhs, according to an official release on Monday, Nov 3.

The total number of cases filed for violation of various provisions of the Companies Act 1956 during the period were 308 and fine of Rs 9,67,500 were imposed by the court against the defaulting companies and Directors.

During the period, four companies were converted from private to public and two were transferred from other states to Kerala.
