Shiv Sena Shakha Pramukh Nitin Prabhu gunned down
Navi Mumbai, Nov 2 (UNI) Shiv Sena Shakha Pramukh Nitin Prabhu was allegedly shot dead by two unidentified assailants at Airoli in the city over a land deal, police said today.
At around 2345 hrs last night, the two on a motorcycle opened fire on Prabhu, who was standing along with his friend Amit Sawant, at Sector 5 of Airoli, near a nursing home, police sources said.
The gunmen fired three rounds at close range and two bullets hit Prabhu, who immediately collapsed and was declared dead on reaching the hospital. Amit was also injured in the firing and admitted to the hospital, where his condition is reported to be stable.
Prabhu, an estate agent by profession, had entered into sale of a prime plot in the city, in which four to five other estate agents were involved and a dispute arose when he allegedly refused to part with the agreed commission, police said.
Police are questioning the other estate agents and further investigation is on.
