GSRTC makes additional income of Rs 1 crore during Diwali
Ahmedabad, Nov 02 (UNI) The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has earned a whopping Rs one crore through passengers fares during the Diwali festival.
A GSRTC official said that normally GSRTC plys 6,800 buses and they make 42,000 trips daily. The buses cover 28 lakh kms of area and transport around 24 lakh passengers.
But during Diwali, the figures have increased, with GSRTC deploying around 800 extra buses which operated 3,173 trips and transported an additional 1,77,317 passengers, leading to additional income of Rs 1,03,04,042.
