German national for infiltrating inside India from Bangladesh

Shillong, Nov 2 (UNI) A German national was apprehended by Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in Meghalaya for infiltrating inside India from Bangladesh.

Amtruis Meck was nabbed by the BSF personnel yesterday from Lang Tilla area, bordering Bangladesh's Sylhet district.

The BSF seized 15, 775 Bangladesh Taka and a camera from his possession, police said.

According to Meck, who is now under custody of Meghalaya police, claimed to have accidentally crossed over to India.

"He told us that he came to Bangladesh with his family and mistakenly crossed over to India,'' police said.

Meanwhile, the state police have requested Meck's family member to come to Meghalaya with his (Meck) passport for verification.
