Disatisfied BJP leaders create ruckus
Satna, MP, Nov 2 (UNI) Several BJP workers, including party office bearers, led by senior leader and former minister Ramhit Gupt, today staged a protest outside party office here to protest against candidature in three assembly seats in this district.
Angry party workers tore posters of senior BJP leaders and indulged in vandalism. Police were called to control the situation.
Party sources said Mr Ramkhilawan Patel, who left the BSP to join the BJP, has been fielded from Amarpatan, while Mr Harspratap Singh, who joined the BJP after quitting the SP, has been fielded from Rampur Baghelan.
Besides, Mr Surendra Singh Gaharwar's candidature from Chitrakoot was being opposed.
Mr Gupt alleged that dedicated party workers had been sidelined and those switching from other parties were being given ticket. He threatened that BJP workers would resign en masse if these candidates were not changed by November 7.
The situation became normal after assurance by district BJP President Rajkumar Mishra.
He informed senior leaders about the incident. A meeting was underway with dissatisfied leaders in the party office.
