BJP denies changing Kharsia nominee

Raipur, Nov 2 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today stoutly denied changing its Kharsia candidate and giving the ticket to MP Nand Kumar Sai.

''Ms Lakshmi Patel has been given the Kharsia ticket and there is no question of changing her as the Central Election Committee has placed its seal over her nomination,'' a BJP national office-bearer told UNI over telephone.

Sources close to Mr Sai confirmed to UNI here earlier today that he had begun preparations for submitting nomination papers.

''The Kharsia candidate has not been changed,'' Chief Minister Raman Singh told UNI.
