2,500 acres earmarked for SEZs: Paswan
Salboni, West Midnapore, Nov 2 (UNI) Union Steel Minister Ram Vilas Paswan today said 2,500 acres of land have been earmarked for setting up Special Economic Zones (SEZ), under PCPIR, in different parts of the country.
Talking to mediapersons after the inauguration of the Salboni steel plant, the Union Minister informed that SEZs were coming up at Nayachar in West Bengal and two other places of Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat.
Mr Paswan said a high-powered committee was examining the proposals in this regard which will soon be sent to the Union Cabinet for its approval.
Reacting to the recent violence against North Indians in Mumbai and its retaliation in Bihar, Mr Paswan said, ''Law and order should be maintained in every part of the country. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray is igniting provincialism and he should be arrested, if needed.'' He also pointed out that a case had been registered in Jharkhand High Court, adding, ''Raj Thackeray should be handed over to the Jharkhand government.'' UNI ADG DPM RL CS1640
