Punjab govt's notice to 3 PWD officials in court case

Chandigarh, Nov 1 (UNI) The Punjab government today issued showcause notice to two Executive Engineers and a Sub-Divisional Engineer of the PWD (B&R) for filing improper reply in the Punjab and Haryana High Court and for not deputing a responsible official to assist the state law officer in the Court.

An official spokesperson said here that it was brought to the notice of the Government by the office of the Advocate General that when a case pertaining to PWD (B&R) came up for hearing on October 31 at the High Court, nobody from PWD came to assist the law officer appearing in this case.

Moreover in the reply filed by XEN, Central Works Division, Ferozepur, it was stated that although land had been acquired for a road but records were not available. The High Court expressed unhappiness over such type of unsatisfactory replies filed on behalf of State of Punjab.

The spokesperson said due to this negligence by the concerned officers, the government issued show cause notice to Satish Grovar, then XEN Central Works Division, Ferozepur and now posted at Provincial Division, Nawanshahar for filing improper reply.

Sukhdev Singh XEN Central Works Division, Ferozepur and Harjit Singh, Sub Division Engineer, Central Works Division, Moga have also been issued show cause notice for not deputing responsible official to assist the law officer in Court.
