Hooda announces sops for pvt schools and guest lecturers

Jind, Nov 1 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced major concession to private schools and an incentive to the guest lecturers on the occasion of 'Haryana Day' today.

While speaking as a Chief Guest in the felicitation function organised by private schools here, Mr Hooda announced that the private Schools charging bus fair upto Rs 200 per child, would not have to pay any tax on school buses and those charging more than Rs 200 per child, would have to pay tax on school buses at the rate of Rs 20 per seat instead of Rs 40 per seat.

The Chief Minister also announced to increase the honorarium of guest lecturer from Rs 100 per hour to Rs 123 per period and monthly honorarium from Rs 1000 to Rs 3000.

He also announced that district level committees under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioners were also being constituted in the state to deal with the applications of those private schools which were functioning before March 31, 2007 and which had applied for seeking recognition by April 10, 2007. Earlier, such cases used to be disposed of at state headquarters.

Referring to the relief given by the State Government to the Private schools, he said that the Haryana Education Rules-2003, had been amended providing relaxation in the condition of the minimum land for building of schools functioning before March 31, 2007 and which had applied for recognition by April 10, 2007.
