Harassed by neighbours man commits suicide

Phagwara, Nov 1 (UNI) A man, allegedly humiliated by his neighbours, committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree on a platform at Phagwara Railway Station last night, police today said.

According to GRP, Ajit Singh, a resident of Rampur colony had stated in a suicide note that he was driven to take his life as six of his neighours, with whom he was having a land dispute, had recently forcibly prepared a video film when he was easing himself, spat on him and severely beat him up.

In the suicide note found from his residence, he also alleged that the six were now threatening to show the video clips to other people. Feeling humiliated and helpless, he had decided to hang himself to death, the note said.

Police have registered a case but no arrest has been made so far.

The body of the deceased has been sent to local civil hospital for post mortem.
