Woman passenger dies while boarding train

Lakhisarai, Oct 31 (UNI) A 50 year old lady passenger of Patna bound Danapur Express died after she fell from the running train at Lakhisarai station early today.

Police said the incident occurred as the lady tried to board the train and slipped as it started its onward journey after a brief halt at the station.

As she was grieviously injured and bleeding profusely, the lady was taken to the nearest primary health centre at Kiul station, about three km away. But in absence of any doctor, the victim could not be provided with any immediate treatment.

As a result she died there after about an hour.

The incident has exposed the lack of sympathy, care and the basic human nature among the people in the area who did not bother to take her to a hospital for proper treatment which could have saved her life.

In another incident a woman, who was travelling on a motorcycle with her husband, was killed on the spot after being hit by a speeding vehicle from behind at Ambedkar Chowk near here today.

However, her husband had a miraculous escape with minor injury.
