Two youths drowned in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur, Oct 31 (UNI) On the occasion of Immersion ceremony of Goddess Laxmi in Rapti river, two youths were drowned in Sahjanwa area of the district here today.

According to police sources, the youths of Mahasand village took the idol for immersion in Rapti river on a rickshaw. After immersion, they noticed that the idol was still flouting over the waters and again went for the immersion in deep waters. During the process, Abhishekh (12) and Ankit (13) got drowned due to high current of water while two others were rescued by fishermen.

On getting information, police reached the site and took the services of divers but the bodies could not be recovered till the last report came in.
