TN: Sarathkumar promises positive change

Tiruchirapalli, Oct 31: Actor-politician and founder-leader of the All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi(AISMK) Sarathkumar has underlined the need for a sustainable economic policy and promised to bring in a positive change in society with a focus on education, employment and empowerment.

Accepting the 'Vocational Excellence Award' from the Rotary Club of Tiruchi Rock City, here last night, he said ''We will brew something new. Politics, unfortunately, has become more of a business than service. But money should not decide, who gets into power. People must excise franchise with prudence.'' Educated people must be motivated to get into politics and take responsibilities that could decide the future of the society, he added.

Mr Sarathkumar also assured a different approach to politics, where his party will not only voice its opinion vociferously against the Government's inept performance, but also hail the Goverment when it performs with aplomb.

Radikaa Sarathkumar, actor and wife of Mr Sarathkumar, who was also conferred the award, lucidly traced her journey in the tinsel world. On her maiden film 'Kizhake Pogum Rail,' Ms Sarathkumar said she vividly remembers every shot in the film and learned to become rich in experience.
