Over 29 lakh MT paddy arrives in Haryana mandis

Chandigarh, Oct 31 (UNI) Over 29.37 lakh MTs of paddy has arrived in the mandis of Haryana so far this season.

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan today said 28.28 lakh MTs of paddy had arrived in the mandis during the corresponding period the last year.

He said out of the total arrival, HAFED had procured 6.93 lakh MTs of paddy followed by 4.93 lakh MTs by Food and Supplies Department.

Similarly, 2.18 lakh MTs of paddy was purchased by the Confed, 1.70 lakh MTs by Haryana Agro Industries, 64,232 MTs by Haryana Warehousing Corporation and 6,931 MTs by Food Corporation of India.

He said district Kurukshetra was leading with the arrival of 6.25 lakh MTs of paddy followed by Karnal 5.05 lakh MTs, Fatehabad 4.06 lakh MTs, Kaithal 3.23 lakh MTs, Ambala 2.84 lakh MTs, Yamunanagar 2.11 lakh MTs, Sirsa 1.32 lakh MTs, Jind 1.43 lakh MTs and Panipat 1.11 lakh MTs.
