Gurgaon records less pollution on Diwali
Chandigarh, Oct 31 (UNI) The pollution level in Gurgaon city recorded a decrease of about 15 per cent during this Diwali as compared to last year.
An official spokesman said the suspended particulate matter (SPM) this year was 832 micro gram per meter cube as compared to last year's 978.
The level of respiratory problem intensifying particulate matter RSPM was 520 this year while it was 621 last year.
Similarly, on this Diwali day, the level of sulphur dioxide was 36 and Nitrogen Oxide was 67 micro gram per meter cube as compared to last year's 49 and 77 respectively.
He said the pollution level was got checked at various places in the city on the ocassion of Diwali.
The noise pollution level was also checked at Mehrauli-Gurgaon road (Near Mall Area), Bus Stand, Sector-4 and 14. It was also found to be less by 5 to 7 per cent as compared to last year.
