Floral tributes paid to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi led the nation in paying homage to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the country's Iron Man, on his birth anniversary at a simple function held in the Parliament House today.

Union Ministers, Members of Parliament, former Members of Parliament were among several dignitaries present on the occasion.

Lok Sabha Secretary General P D T Achary and Rajya Sabha Secretary General V K Agnihotri paid rich tributes to the first Union Home minister.

The Lok Sabha secretariat released a booklet containing the profile of Patel in Hindi and English and it was presented to all dignitaries.
