Criminal held with country made pistol in Jammu

Jammu, Oct 31 (UNI) A special team of Jammu and Kashmir Police today arrested a notorious criminal along with country made pistol and live rounds from him in the heart of the city, sources here said.

''The sleuths of Anti-Goonda Squad, based on tip off, raided a house of a miscreant identified as Sonal Malhotra alias Topu, resident of Gali Malhotrian in city area this evening,'' sources told UNI.

The team recovered one country made pistol (katta) and six live rounds from him.

The police sources however, said that during interrogation, the accused revealed that he used to operate for a group of local gangsters and was assigned a task to assassinate one of the members of their rival group.
