Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Oct 30 (UNI) Preparations are in full swing for the proposed visit of President Pratibha Patil on the concluding day of the golden jubilee celebrations of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University here on November two.
According to university sources, committees have been formed to look after various preparations for the event. The committees that have been formed include reception committee, stage committee, publicity committee, seating arrangement committee, water supply and security. These committees comprise head of the departments of the university, teaching, non-teaching staff and students.
The sources further said a big 'pandal' with the sitting capacity of over 10,000 people will be erected at the sports complex stadium of the university.
The President would be accompanied by State Governor and Chancellor of the University Sanayangba Chubatoshi Jamir, Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, District Guardian Minister Patangrao Kadam, Higher and Technical Education Minister Dilip Walse-Patil.
Ms Patil has been invited as part of golden jubilee celebration of the university.
The university is waiting for permission from the President's office to felicitate some of the ex-students of the university like chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC) Sukhdev Thorat for achieving commendable job.
Meanwhile, the President will also attend the commencement of golden jubilee celebration year of Marathwada Shikshan Prasarak Mandal to be held in the evening on the same day.
''Police machinery have inspected both the venues of the President's maiden visit to the city on Sunday and are monitoring the routes through which Pratibha Patil will attend the programmes,'' the sources added.
