Ferozepur skittled out for 126 in Punjab women inter distt

Patiala, Oct 30 (UNI) In the opening match of Punjab State Senior Women Inter-District cricket championship, Patiala were happily placed on the first day of 2-day match against Ferozepur here at the Army cricket ground.

Winning the toss and electing to field first, Patiala skittled out Ferozepur for a paltry 126 in 34.1 overs. Jagdeep Kaur Sandhu, who remained not out on 34, played exceedingly well. Dharwinder Kaur (24) and Baljinder Kaur (16) were the other run getters.

For Patiala, medium pacer Gurpreet Attili bowled a nagging length to capture six wickerts, giving away 42 runs. Moksha also bowled well to bag 3 for 35.

In reply, Patiala scored 39 for 1 in 17 overs when the umpires called stump due to inclement weather and poor light. Harmanjit Kaur and Nupur Kaur were unbeaten on 4 and 5 runs respectively. Parveen Khan took 1 for 14. The match will continue tomorrow.
