SP leader dies in suspicious circumstances

Satna, MP, Oct 29 (UNI) A local Samajwadi Party leader has died under suspicious circumstances in this district last night, police said today.

District SP Yuva Morcha President Ashok Tripathi (27) was found lying unconscious near Kotwali area at around 2230 hours last night.

He was admitted to a private hospital but, due unavailability of oxygen, was rushed to Birla hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment at around 0330 hours.

Mr Tripathi's uncle Ramakant Tripathi alleged that the SP leader was least seen along with Satna BJP legislator Shankarlal Tiwari's son Raja Tiwari. Later, he was found unconscious near the MLA's office.

District SP President Rajesh Dubey described the incident as murder and demanded an inquiry into it.

According to police, prima facie, the death appeared to be caused by consuming poisonous substance. However, the situation would be clear after post-mortem.
