Ghalib institute announces list of awardees

New Delhi, Oct 29 (UNI) The Ghalib Institute announced names of seven awardees today for the year 2008.

According to a release, the meeting of the award committee of Ghalib Institute was held on October 25 under the chairmanship of prof SAH Abidi. The deliberations reached a consensus on the following names: Prof Sharib Radaulvi for Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Ghalib award (Urdu research), Wali-ul-haq Ansari for Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Ghalib award (Persian research), Mughni Tabassum for Ghalib award for urdu prose, Mohd Alvi for Ghalib award for urdu poetry, Sagar Ahmadi for Humsub Ghalib award, Marghoob Banihali for Ghalib atlas award, Balraj Verma for Ghalib award of urdu journalism.

Each award consists of Rs 50,000 cash and a citation. The awards will be presented at Aiwane-e-ghalib marg on December 12.
