Cong hits out at Kerala Ministers on US trip

Pathanamthitta, Oct 29 (UNI) Congress Leader V M Sudheeran has strongly criticised Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan for undertaking a tour to the US when Kerala had turned into a 'fertile breeding ground for terrorism.' He was also against entrusting the Chairmanship of the High-Level Meeting on Terrorism to Local Administration Minister Paloli Muhammaed Kutty 'who had proved himself inept in properly administering his own department.' Mr Sudheeran was inaugurating the district convention of Kerala NGO Association here today.

The LDF Government was under the control of ''Goonda Mafia Raj,'' providing congenial atmosphere for terrorists, he alleged.

It was also improper for Ministers Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and Elamaram Karim to choose to go to the US seeking financial help in the present juncture when America was caught in international financial turmoil.

Mr Sudheeran accused the State Government for not taking any step against the terrorist activities even in the wake of central intelligence agencies' warning.

He said the CPI(M) was speaking in the voice of land mafia while criticising the Chengara Land Struggle.
