Two maoists killed in exchange of fire in Guntur
Vijayawada, Oct 28: Two CPI-Maoists, including a woman were killed during an exchange of fire with police at Nallamalla forests in Bollapalli Mandal in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday, Oct 28.
Police said the exchange of fire took place when a police party spotted a seven-member maoists squad while conducting combing operations in the forest area.
When the police asked the maoists about their identity, they opened fire. Police returned the fire in which two ultras were killed.
The exchange of fire between police and maoists lasted for about 25 minutes.
One AK 47 assault rifle and a tapancha were recovered from the encounter spot, police said.
