Rains likely in Andaman, Nicobar islands, North-east

Pune, Oct 28 (UNI) Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Andaman and Nicobar islands and few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, west Bengal and Sikkim.

It is also likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Tamil Nadu.

Mainly dry weather is likely to prevail in Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Heavy to very heavy rains have occurred at most places in Assam and Meghalaya. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Andaman and Nicobar islands, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, few places in Arunachal Pradesh and isolated places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Mainly dry weather prevailed in Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Day temperature was appreciably above normal in coastal Andhra Pradesh, some parts of east Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra and above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, some parts of west Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala. It was appreciably to markedly below normal in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim and below normal in some parts of Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab. It was normal in rest of the country.

Night temperature was appreciably to markedly below normal in some parts of Jharkhand, west Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and below normal in some parts of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Gujarat and in remaining parts of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. It was appreciably to markedly above normal in some parts of Haryana and Punjab and above normal in some parts of Assam, Meghalaya, east Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Saurashtra, Kutch, remaining parts of Rajasthan and normal in rest of the country.
