Pak woman donates blood for Indian dengue patients
Chandigarh, Oct 27 (UNI) A visiting Pakistani housewife, moved by the news of shortage of blood for dengue patients in the tri-city, donated blood for her ''Indian bretheen in need'' before leaving for her homeland.
Rashida Raza of Lahore, who had come here with her musicologist husband Kasim, to attend the annual Sangeet Sammelan organised by Indian National Theatre, donated blood at the Rotary and Blood Bank Society Resource Centre on Saturday, according to Mrs Kanta Saroop Krishen, President, Blood Bank Society.
''All of us were overwhelmed by the spirit of compassion she displayed. In an instant, Rashida made all physical and political barriers disappear by her positive and humane approach for the needy,'' Mrs Krishen said here today.
