Over 27 lakh MTs paddy arrives in Haryana mandis

Chandigarh, Oct 27 (UNI) An estimated 27.32 lakh MTs of paddy has arrived in 180 mandis of Haryana so far which is 1.69 lakh MTs more than the previous year.

While stating this here today, Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said that out of the total arrivals, the traders had purchased 8.62 lakh MTs of non-leviable paddy and 2.94 lakh MTs leviable paddy.

Mr Chander Mohan said that HAFED had procured 6.60 lakh MTs of paddy followed by 4.72 lakh MTs by Food and Supplies Department.

Similarly, 2.13 lakh MTs of paddy was purchased by Confed, 1.60 lakh MTs by Haryana Agro Industries, 61,978 by Haryana Warehousing Corporation and 6,172 by Food Corporation of India.

While enamurating the details of the arrival of the paddy in the districts, he said that district Kurukshetra was still leading with the arrival of 6.08 lakh MTs of paddy followed by Karnal 4.77 lakh MTs.
