Over 27 lakh MT paddy arrives in mandis
Chandigarh, Oct 27: An estimated 27.32 lakh million tonnes (MT) paddy has arrived in 180 mandis of Haryana so far which is 1.69 lakh MT more than the previous year.
While stating this here today, Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said of the total arrivals, the traders have purchased 8.62 lakh MT non-leviable paddy and 2.94 lakh MT leviable paddy.
Mr Mohan said the HAFED procured 6.60 lakh MT paddy, followed by 4.72 lakh MT procurement by Food and Supplies Department.
Similarly, 2.13 lakh MT paddy was purchased by Confed, 1.60 lakh MT by Haryana Agro Industries, 61,978 by Haryana Warehousing Corporation and 6,172 by Food Corporation of India.
While enumerating the details of the arrival of the paddy in the districts, he said Kurukshetra is still leading with the arrival of 6.08 lakh MT paddy, followed by Karnal with 4.77 lakh MT.
