HP Governor, CM extend Diwali greetings

Shimla, Oct 27 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Governor Prabha Rau and Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal have extended their heartiest greetings to people on the occasion of Diwali.

In a message here today, the Governor said this festival of lights, symbolised the journey from ignorance towards knowledge. She said it also signifies victory of truth over evil.

Prof Dhumal, in his message on the occasion said that the festival was an occasion to share joy and happiness with the near and dear ones. He hoped that the festival would bring prosperity and happiness into the lives of the people of the state.

The Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation said here today that the Corporation has decided to celebrated Diwali festival by lighting all its units and distributing sweets on complimentary basis to the tourists staying in its hotels.
