Disappointing Deepavali for film buffs
Puducherry, Oct 27: Film buffs in the union territory were a disappointed lot as only two of the four Tamil films lined up for Deepavali were released.
Non-availability of theatres was said to be the reason.
The number of theatres has come down to eight from 15 last year. The others have been converted to hotels or shopping malls.
The two films were released in five of the eight theatres. While three theatres were screening Ajith's "Aegan", two others are screening Bharath's "Seval". One theatre released a new print of MGR's "Ulagam Sutrum Vaaliban" which is turning out to be a "hit" again in neighbouring Tamil Nadu again attracting hardcore MGR fans.
Meanwhile, as the fans have it on festivals, fans associations offered flowers and milk "Abishegams" to cut-outs of their favourite heroes whose films were released.
