BSE Sensex at 8296 points, Nifty below 2400
Mumbai, Oct 27: Indian markets continue to fall on Monday, Oct 27 following meltdown in the overseas market on fears of slowdown in global economy and recession going on in United States.
Sensex, the Bombay Stock Exchange bench mark index opened at a three year low of 8296 points in the early trade on fresh selling by funds. National Stock Exchange's Nifty fell below 2500 points level and lost 140 points or 5.38 pc at 2,444.90. Grasim Industries, HDFC Bank, HDFC Ltd, State Bank of India, Larsen and Toubro, Tata Power and Wipro were the major losers which pulled the Sensex down
