2 held for theft, sale of bullets from Khadki ammunition unit
Pune, Oct 27 (UNI) City police today arrested two persons, including an employee of Central government-run Ammunition Factory at Khadki here, for allegedly stealing and selling bullets from the unit.
Addressing a press conference here, Joint Commissioner of Police Rajendra Singh said acting on a tip-off, police arrested Bholenath Bhegade (31) and Santosh alias Balu Pawar (30) from Nashik Phata on Pune-Mumbai Highway and recovered 20 live bullets and Rs 4,000 in cash from them.
Bhegade, who is an employee of the Factory, allegedly stole live bullets on many occasions. However, the theft came to light only today, police said.
Santosh bought the shells from Bhegade and sold them off, Mr Singh added.
