Governor, CM extend Diwali greetings to people of Goa

Panaji, Oct 26 (UNI) Goa Governor S S Sidhu and Chief Minister Digambar Kamat have extended warm greetings and best wishes to the people on the occasion of Diwali.

The Governor, in his message said, ''Diwali is the festival of lights. This unique and traditional festival symbolises the epoch-making victory of good over evil, light over darkness and virtue over vice. Its' joyous celebrations promote social solidarity, bonhomie, mutual understanding and goodwill among the people, which is crucial for national integration.'' The Chief Minister, in his message, said that this festival of lights will radiate happiness and prosperity in every home in the state and foster peace, brotherhood and tranquility among different communities.

Mr Kamat said, on this solemn occasion, let the lamp of compassion, love and righteousness be illuminated. The festival of lights provide us the inspiration to fight against all odds and move forward on the path of progress and prosperity, he added.
