Flood warning issued to people living along Kabini river
Mysore, Oct 26 (UNI) The irrigation authorities of Kabini reservoir today issued a flood warning to people living on the banks of the river to move to safer places, as inflow into the reservoir was increasing following continuous rains in catchment areas.
According to a press release by the Executive Engineer, the water level in the reservoir had reached 2281.20 feet against the maximum level of 2284 feet.
The inflow into the reservoir was 25,000 cusecs. Discharge of water from the reservoir could be increased any moment, the release said.
Meanwhile, the water level in Krishnaraja Sagar reservoir near here was 121.32 feet against the maximum level of 124.80 feet.
